Fabcrush editors are longtime fans of the recently-deceased designer, Alexander McQueen. The designer who is known for his show-stopping designs was found dead in his apartment in London, Thursday morning February 11th, 2010, just days after his mother passed away. According to recent reports, McQueen hanged himself, but Scotland Yard will not confirm this. His autopsy will take place Monday, in Westminster, London. Funeral details is yet to be released.
McQueen was trained in England’s prestigious design house, Savile Row, and in 1994, he enrolled in London’s Central Saint Martins fashion school. In 1996, Alexander McQueen became the head designer at Givenchy before Gucci bought 51 per cent of his own company and propelled him into being the celebrity-favorite designer.
McQueen was honored by Queen Elizabeth in 2003 and was famous among Hollywood’s A-Listers. His edgy designs were eye-catching and also became Fabcrush readers’ favorites.

One of his longtime friend, fashion icon Sarah Jessica Parker who was recently appointed as Chief Creative Officer and President of Halston, mourns the passing of the designer:
“I am shocked and overcome with grief upon learning about the untimely death of the quiet genius Alexander McQueen. My heart goes out to his family and all those who worked for and with him.”
Sarah Jessica also spoke on how she finds Alexander McQueen as one-of-a-kind.
“Every single inspired, original, lofty, whimsical, stunning, brilliant and jaw dropping detail was Alexander Mcqueen. There has never been anyone like him. And there simply never will be.”
About McQueen’s unreleased designs, Sarah Jessica commented:
“What is more devastating is that despite all his success thus far, creatively, critically and commercially, his greatest achievements lay ahead of him. The future would be whatever he hoped to make of it,” she says. “God speed Lee. It has been a privilege for all of us to know you. You will be indescribably missed.”
He will be missed, indeed.

There was a time where a woman would think that only pearls around her neck can say something about her. Pearls say ‘class’, and other accessories used to stay somewhat… silent. Lately, the statement necklaces are crawling their way onto women’s necks and while they might seem weird at first, we assure you that they just take some getting used to. You gotta get used to them real fast, though, because they’re the ‘it’ accessory this fall and they don’t only say stuff. They scream out loud.

For first-time wearers, the ACB by Annie Costello Brown V Neck Fringe Necklace ($305.00) is subtle enough, yet casual enough to wear with jeans and edgy enough to wear with a simple dress.

If you just love trying on different things and experimenting with fashion (or simply like to be the fabulous center of attention), this Lizzie Fortunato Jewels Midnight Rambler Necklace ($436.00) is perfect for you. Going to the fashion edge will never be the same.

The Juicy Couture Sequin Drama Bob Necklace ($228.00) is a charming way to wear a statement necklace. Think flowy pastel tube dresses and elegant cocktail parties to match.

Looking for a different kick in ‘exotic’ accessory? The Fiona Paxton Gilda Collar Necklace ($375.00) screams “Sexy!” enough said.

If you think statement necklaces are only appropriate to wear at daytimes, think again. The Citrine by the Stones Large Drape Necklace ($318.00) is exquisite to brighten up that sexy little black dress. It’s the new kind of elegance and no woman shall deny it.

It’s fall and the essential things to have this season are the transitional fashion gear. No, we won’t talk about boring cardigans and mundane shawls. The word ‘transitional’ has a whole new meaning and today it means ‘boots’. It’s not cold enough to wear them yet it’s cold enough to cover those ankles. Solution: peek-a-boo boots a.k.a. cut-out boots. Their designs are way out of this earth and they can take you to the past or way into the future. Check out what we mean and shop away right here.

d.co 721 Antik Split Boot in Beige, $221.00

Candela Victoria Bootie in Bone, $132.00

Matiko Lexi Cut Out Boot in Tan, $259.00

Matiko Ozzie Cut Out Boot in Black, $284.00

The upcoming season of Fall is always identified with golden touches over grey nuance. Here at Fabcrush.com, we believe that any color can fit into any season, as long as you put them right together. Today we fall in love with this asymmetric Notch skirt from Linda Laudermilk.

Very ‘fall appropriate’ navy blue and a sleek cut makes it a great choice to greet the golden season. The Linda Laudermilk Notch skirt is available on Zappos.com for $160.00, already marked down from $279.00. Having a color hanging on the verge of ‘boring’, we figure adding touches of red will lighten up your look. And here are the Fabcrush-approved red additions to the skirt.

French Connection Sea Stars Top, original price $120.00 now $90.30

Alexander McQueen Squeeze It Clutch, $1,024

The main challenge after a hot summer is finding a warming wear to survive the transitional weather… to the golden fall. You’ll need something hot-looking, warm to wear but not making you look like an Eskimo stranded in Hawaii. The perfect answer to this fashion problem is the return of the blazers. Not ones with fierce shoulder pads circa “Dynasty” era -although they too, are making a slow but sure comeback-, think smart, simple ones that would make you look hot while it’s getting cool. Here are some of the hottest blazers hand-picked by Fabcrush editors.

YMC Poplin Floral Print Blazer, was $308 now $216

Mink Pink Trust Fund Jacket, was $107 now $75

Rails Tamara Blazer, $151.00

Radcliffe English Jacket, $125.00

Modern Amusement Striped Sweater, $198.00

Whether you’re going back to school or campus, you gotta look hot but still subtle enough for class. Think colors but simpler stuff like tube tops, capri jeans, flats and neon-colored computer totes. Summer might be over but who said the fun should end there? So without further ado, Fabcrush will help you dressing yourself up from head-to-toe with a casual summery look but chic schoolgirl sensibility. Here we go!

Roxy Velocity Top, $35.50

7 For All Mankind Josefina Jean, $204.00
