What we love about the New York Fashion Week is how each of the designers who participates in the event sometimes end up with similarities. They still have their signature touches, however they couldn’t seem to escape the similar air of the next season’s offerings. Here are some of Fabcrush favorites from the event. First up: bold fresh colors from DKNY.

Still in the bold colors mood, Project Runway alum, Christian Siriano offers some freshness in the formal lineup.

Tommy Hillfiger also came up with some fresh colors in its resort collection.

In the formal front, along with Christian Siriano, Zac Posen offers some really elegant structured dresses in calmer color tones.

Among the blocks of bold colors, Charlotte Ronson presented prints on her collection. Symetrical lines and patterns adorn the collection and we LOVE them.

Which collection will be filling your wardrobe next season?

Vacations are wonderful, but sometimes we have to compromise our fashionable style just to accommodate the stuff that ironically makes us look… well, fashionable. The dilemma is how to appear fabulous effortlessly on your vacation while conveniently carry all your belongings, at least to the plane’s cabin. Solution: get a great-looking keep-all. Or travel bag. Or anything big enough for all your fabulous stuff. The key thing to keep things chic and simple is to stay on the natural color scheme. Colors too loud will only work on paparazzi-inducing celebrities. So if you’re more of a quiet but stylish traveler, check our picks!

Frye Blair Crossbody, $428

Farm Tactics Field Backpack, $195

A Kurtz Russell Backpack, $98

Some of us don’t look that great in bikinis, and that’s a fact we have to deal with every time summer comes. However there’s a true misconception about one-piece bathing suits. While often perceived as ‘not hot enough’, one-pieces can actually be sexier than the typical bikini. The secret is: you’ll have to know which one is right for you. Fabcrush editors are all about sexy one piece this summer with this basic fashion principle in mind: sometimes, too much skin revealed is just not as sexy as creating curiosity. So take a look at our picks for the summer’s hottest one-piece swimsuits:

Norma Kamali Bill One Piece in Red, $385

MIKOH Swimwear Lucas One Piece in Turquoise, $185

Juicy Couture Miss Softee Bandeau One Piece in Black, $164

By today, the world has recognized the suddenly-famous Marie Claire cover: the make-up-less Jessica Simpson. But then questions raised and people are starting to talk about the legitimation of the ‘loud’ no make-up statement. This is simple in our regular world, but very big in the fashion and beauty world!

Some blogs reported that if you look closely to the cover image, there’s some make-up residue around her eyes or maybe they are touches of mascara. Anybody can say negative stuff, but Jessica stood up for herself:
“I absolutely was not wearing make-up. If anyone compared the Marie Claire Photos to the airbrushed ones, the differences would definitely be noticeable.”
Aside from promoting her upcoming reality show “Price of Beauty”, Jessica wanted to send out an important message to women that she is a normal person and thus boosts their self esteem.
Well, it’s good that Jess is not selling make up (yet) in her Jessica Simpson fashion line, so you can enjoy her designs without being a ‘different’ person. Fabcrush has selected some strikingly hot Jessica Simpson fashion items for your summer, and here’s the complete beach outfit. With things like these, who needs make up?

Jessica Simpson Oversized Floppy Hat, $44

Jessica Simpson Shades, $51

Jessica Simpson Long Sundress, $118

Jessica Simpson Cane Sandals, $69

Jessica Simpson St. Tropez Tote Bag, was $128, now $91.35

Fabcrush editors are longtime fans of the recently-deceased designer, Alexander McQueen. The designer who is known for his show-stopping designs was found dead in his apartment in London, Thursday morning February 11th, 2010, just days after his mother passed away. According to recent reports, McQueen hanged himself, but Scotland Yard will not confirm this. His autopsy will take place Monday, in Westminster, London. Funeral details is yet to be released.
McQueen was trained in England’s prestigious design house, Savile Row, and in 1994, he enrolled in London’s Central Saint Martins fashion school. In 1996, Alexander McQueen became the head designer at Givenchy before Gucci bought 51 per cent of his own company and propelled him into being the celebrity-favorite designer.
McQueen was honored by Queen Elizabeth in 2003 and was famous among Hollywood’s A-Listers. His edgy designs were eye-catching and also became Fabcrush readers’ favorites.

One of his longtime friend, fashion icon Sarah Jessica Parker who was recently appointed as Chief Creative Officer and President of Halston, mourns the passing of the designer:
“I am shocked and overcome with grief upon learning about the untimely death of the quiet genius Alexander McQueen. My heart goes out to his family and all those who worked for and with him.”
Sarah Jessica also spoke on how she finds Alexander McQueen as one-of-a-kind.
“Every single inspired, original, lofty, whimsical, stunning, brilliant and jaw dropping detail was Alexander Mcqueen. There has never been anyone like him. And there simply never will be.”
About McQueen’s unreleased designs, Sarah Jessica commented:
“What is more devastating is that despite all his success thus far, creatively, critically and commercially, his greatest achievements lay ahead of him. The future would be whatever he hoped to make of it,” she says. “God speed Lee. It has been a privilege for all of us to know you. You will be indescribably missed.”
He will be missed, indeed.
