Waist belts certainly aren’t a new trend, but the way we wear them is changing. Move over giant square belt buckles, it’s all about the cumberbund and the sash. Here are four big belts that will make an equally big impression on any outfit.
The Stitched Obi Wrap Belt from Asos ($27.37) wraps and curves it’s way around your waist several times for a truly impactful look. It’s bold and it’s daring, but it’s also surprisingly versatile. This belt will look great with a variety of basic shirt and sweater dresses, but think how amazing it will look with a pair of grey wide leg trousers and a crisp white button down? Too chic.
Designer Suzi Roher obviously knows her way around this seasons trends because she’s created two amazing big belts. First the Horn Buckle Leather Belt ($250), which is the perfect sash to put on with a halter top and jeans or your favorite jersey mini dress. And the Wide Contour Lamb ($300) belt is a sleek and modern interpretation of a cummerbund. It’s curved to fit your waist perfectly and will look it’s best paired with a black wrap sweater.
Elegantly Waisted puts a different spin on the cummerbund. The Ruffle Belt in White ($198) adds a bit of flirty flair to any outfit. This is a great way to dress up a basic black blazer or wear over a bright summer dress.
Be sure to stock up on a couple of these wide belts, even in funky colors and cool textures. It really is the best way to dress up a basic outfit.
