Fabcrush editors are longtime fans of the recently-deceased designer, Alexander McQueen. The designer who is known for his show-stopping designs was found dead in his apartment in London, Thursday morning February 11th, 2010, just days after his mother passed away. According to recent reports, McQueen hanged himself, but Scotland Yard will not confirm this. His autopsy will take place Monday, in Westminster, London. Funeral details is yet to be released.
McQueen was trained in England’s prestigious design house, Savile Row, and in 1994, he enrolled in London’s Central Saint Martins fashion school. In 1996, Alexander McQueen became the head designer at Givenchy before Gucci bought 51 per cent of his own company and propelled him into being the celebrity-favorite designer.
McQueen was honored by Queen Elizabeth in 2003 and was famous among Hollywood’s A-Listers. His edgy designs were eye-catching and also became Fabcrush readers’ favorites.

One of his longtime friend, fashion icon Sarah Jessica Parker who was recently appointed as Chief Creative Officer and President of Halston, mourns the passing of the designer:
“I am shocked and overcome with grief upon learning about the untimely death of the quiet genius Alexander McQueen. My heart goes out to his family and all those who worked for and with him.”
Sarah Jessica also spoke on how she finds Alexander McQueen as one-of-a-kind.
“Every single inspired, original, lofty, whimsical, stunning, brilliant and jaw dropping detail was Alexander Mcqueen. There has never been anyone like him. And there simply never will be.”
About McQueen’s unreleased designs, Sarah Jessica commented:
“What is more devastating is that despite all his success thus far, creatively, critically and commercially, his greatest achievements lay ahead of him. The future would be whatever he hoped to make of it,” she says. “God speed Lee. It has been a privilege for all of us to know you. You will be indescribably missed.”
He will be missed, indeed.

FashionToast.com has only been active for about four month, but the blog is already receiving crazy amounts of attention online fashionista’s and fashion publications alike. The idea behind Rumi’s blog is pretty simple; she keeps us updated with photos of her stylish outfits daily and also gives us a look at some of the celebrities and models who influence what she wears. One could easily mistake this every day girl for Chloe Sevigny or one of the Olsen Twins based on her clothing alone. But what we love the most about Rumi’s style is that she manages to look just as expensive as those girls, while mainly shopping at affordable stores such as Forever 21, H&M, American Apparel and the Goodwill. Save a designer handbag or two, of course.

Enter the world of a cute, high achieving young cheerleader attending a posh private who knows the difference between actual couture and Juicy Couture. No, it’s not an episode of Gossip Girl, it’s the real life of the author of MissCouturable.blogspot.com.
She may still be in high school but you would never know it by her writing style, which is probably one of the reasons why she landed an internship at Seventeen before she even hit the age herself. On a regular basis she covers what the most influential designers in the industry are doing, gives us a little taste of her every day style, and ties it all back to real life. Her blog is aimed at the younger set, but it easily appeals to those of us who are fashionably young at heart.
