The High Waisted Denim Pencil Skirt
A high waisted denim pencil skirt can be fairly casual or quite sophisticated, depending on the fit and how you pair it. The Citizens Of Humanity High Waist Zip Skirt in Blue Grass ($167) is great for dressing down and Express Lace Up Corset Skirt ($59.50) is perfect for dressing up, on top of being a bargin! Both pairs have that panel and seam detailing around the waist that will make it hug your tummy perfectly, but we especially like the way the Express skirt tapers off at the bottom. Either skirt will go well with a puff sleeve woven blouse.
High Waisted Skinny Jeans
The high waisted trend is affecting how we wear our skinny jeans as well. The Twenty8Twelve by S. Miller Skinny Stretch High Waist Jeans ($143.70) have an extremely high waist band. But don’t be too afraid of this ultra trendy piece; it would stunning with a narrow red belt and a black and white graphic tee tucked in. On the other hand, the less expensive High-waist Ultra Skinny Jean by Express ($69.50) aren’t quite as exaggerrated at the top and also give you that cute little slouch around the ankles.
Wide Leg High Waisted Jeans
Probably the most popular look is the wide leg high waisted jean, which combines two great trends for the season. The Rich and Skinny ‘Lanky’ Wide Leg Jeans ($244) come in a great textured dark blue wash with silver buttons and grommet details. It’s sort of reminscent of a sailor pant without being overly costumey. The Vontriece Jeans from Go Jane ($49.99) will also make you want to tuck in your shirt and make the pants the focal point of your outfit with the cute patch pockets on the front. Pair it with something surprisingly, like one shoulder body suit and a delicate necklace.
Be sure to add a pair of sky high pumps to any of these looks, because you can ever have enough length when you’re rockin’ a pair of pants with that much added width!
