There were plenty of prim and perfect for spring looks on the Lela Rose runway at New York Fashion week, but it was this one in particular that caught our eyes. The colors are classic but the accessories give it an unexpected twist. Read on and we’ll show you how to pull this look off for yourself.
First thing first, the top. We were lucky to stumble upon the silver Gold Hawk Harlequin Tank ($209). It’s not an exact match to the original but it has the same silver shimmer and a line silhoutte, making it a perfect fit.
Instead of a cropped jacket, we went for a cropped yellow sweater. The Haden Cropped Cardigan ($255) is made of a modal and polyester blend. This sweater should hit right above the natural waist, complimenting the top underneath without hiding it too much.
For your lower half, we’ll need a pair of cropped navy slacks. The key here is to go for a pair that aren’t fitted, because the ones worn on the Lela Rose runway were slightly wide in the leg. The Jackson Cropped Pants from Banana Republic ($59) will fill in nicely for our outfit. The cotton crops have rather straight silhouette; not too baggy or too narrow.
The jewelry here is a pretty important part of the outfit. In the original runway look, the model wears a long, chunk necklace with beads of various sizes. And of course, we’re doing the same for ours, except the Shell and Beaded Mix Necklace ($38) from Arden B ($38) has a double strand, making it twice as fun to wear!
The finishing touch will be the shoes. We chose the simple Whit Thong Sandals from Target ($19.99); this way you’ll get that bare look, similar to what the model is sporting, with just the tan colored strap across your toes.
