At New York fashion week, Nicole Miller presented this eclectic yet perfect for work look at her Fall/Winter 2008 runway show. With a little tweak to the color pallette, we’ve managed put this entire look together for you for and you’ll never believe the final price! Keep reading to see it all!
A normal jersey tee shirt won’t cut it for this look. The original Nicole Miller top is very tailored and structured, with a defining neckline and sleeves. We were surprised to find the Cut-Out Back Fitted Shirt from Asos ($54.18) which is similarly detailed. The key hole in the back gives it added flair without showing too much.
The Pleated Skirt from Victorias Secret ($59.50) isn’t sewn together in the same unique way that the original is, but as long as it’s knee length and flowy it will work perfectly. This silk and cotton skirt in particular is crinkled and adds a nice bit of texture to the outfit.
A wide waist belt is imperative to bringing the skirt and the top together. The Double Corset Belt by BeBe ($69) in black is similar in shape and width. It might not come in burgundy, but wearing this with the yellow skirt and the top in white truly makes this inspired look your own.
Add an element of surprise to the outfit with a pair of purple stockings, like the Vintage Bordeaux Pattern Pantyhose ($27.99). Just like in the original outfit, the pantyhose are semi sheer and patterned with a line and dot pattern.
Finish your designer inspired ensemble with a pair of peep toe pumped. We chose the Gazebo Pumps by Steve Madden ($54.18), a pair with woven texture in the same vein as the belt.
