Think 80’s colors, or an Andy Warhol colors. Pop colors is all about blending the brightest and boldest hues into your wardrobe.

Pop Tops

Here’s a quick way to get the pop look: layer two bright colored tees like the 2×1 Rib Racerback Tank ($17) and the Baby Rib Spaghetti Tank ($15) from American Apparel. Go for colors that compliment each other, like purple and sky blue, blue and yellow, yellow and purple, or even purple and red.

Pop Bottoms

Don’t ignore your lower half! These bright colors don’t have to overwhelm your outfit. Pair a black sweater with the purple Geren Ford Zip Back Pencil Skirt ($133) or a plain white tee with the yellow Alice & Olivia Wide Waist Skinny Pants ($242) and you’ll pull off the same effect.

Pop Accessories

A great way to sport pop colors as a part of a cocktail look is to add color coordinate accessories to a basic dress, like the Body Con Scoop Dress from Express ($79.50). BeBe makes a great bright orange belt in the Woven Elastic Corset Belt ($39). And the bright green Patent Twist Belt from Marciano ($118) adds an adorably detailed touch to any basic cocktail dress.

But the accesorizing doesn’t end there. Choose a pair of leggings that match your belt for optimal effect. We love the American Apparel Cotton Spandex Jersey Leggings ($26) because they come in a ridiculously wide array of colors. You can also match your clutch and your shoes. The Parisian Mini Flap Bag by Bebe ($79) comes in a great bright orange, and the BCBGirls Nice Patent Pumps ($92.95) come in bright orange, hot pink, electric blue and basic black.

There’s no denying that pop colors are a fun trend and a great way to show a bit of creativity. All it takes is a couple of pieces on this list to pull the look off, so enjoy it!
