With the number of online designer boutiques rising daily, retailers are getting creative in the way they sell clothes in order to set their stores apart. These are three boutiques that are adding an artistic touch to how they do business. They are certainly more personal and smaller than some of the major players, but we see big things in their future.
One of the first things that stood out to us about Blaec.com is their unique layout; the main page displays new items horizontally and each item page pops up in a small window with a high quality photo. It certianly doesn’t resemble any of the other major online boutiques. But beyond the looks of the store, the site has a great line up of sophisticated designers and only chooses a few pieces from each collection. You can find well known names like Alexander Wang, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Harlow, Jovovich Hawk, Madison Marcus, Dallin Chase as well as up and coming designers like Yeojin Bae who is only sold at Blaec and Barney’s.

LeTrainBleu.com is quickly becoming the online retail store for less than conventional but still wearable fashion. The four year old store was started online only out of Portland, Oregon, and has recently expanded into a brick and mortar store. Their selection has been labeled “forward thinking” by many, and they certainly have a line up of designers who like to think out of the box, such as Development, APC, Ba La Li and tons of other names that aren’t found everywhere else. If you like pieces that are more detailed then basic, certainly give this store a run through. Be sure to check out their editorial movies and styling tips as well.

The clothes carried at LaGarconne.com have been featured in the pages of the biggest magazines, from Harpers Bazaar, to Vogue, Nylon and Lucky multiple times. The site itself approaches what they do similarly to a fashion magazine, wth profiles on designers, fashion icons and seasonal mood boards. Look for designers like Loeffler Randal, McQ, Rag & Bone, Les Prairies Des Paris as well as other up and comers. The clothes at LaGarconne.com are for a young woman with sophistication a bit behind her years, who always wants to look put together.
